Staff Spotlight: Lalie at Gustafson and Morningstar Dentistry

Lalie has been the primary Dental Hygienist at Gustafson and Morningstar Dentistry for over 14 years, so most likely she’s helped you through a checkup or other appointment. A graduate of the University of Detroit Mercy, Lalie received her Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. During her time with Drs. Gustafson and Morningstar, she has formed many friendships with families that visit the office. Lalie has seen many children grow up to attend high school and college and considers many of the patients her friends and family. She enjoys the upbeat atmosphere of the patients, doctors, and staff at Gustafson and Morningstar Dentistry.

One of Lalie’s favorite times of the year is when she attends continuing education courses, learning about the latest state-of-the-art technology and procedures. Last year, she attended a three day training in Florida that discussed advanced cases of Periodontal Disease and Root Debridement Therapy. In 2002, Lalie was awarded the Royal Oak Employee of the Year by the Chamber of Commerce.

A fun fact: Lalie and her husband Joe love gourmet cooking and entertaining friends and family at their home!

Meet Carol, Dental Assistant at Gustafson and Morningstar Dentistry!

Have you had a chance to meet Carol, our newest Dental Assistant at Gustafson and Morningstar Dentistry in Royal Oak, MI? Carol has been a Dental Assistant at our practice for one year, managing the ordering, sterilizing, and office relating to Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. When asked what she most enjoys about Gustafson and Morningstar Dentistry, Carol said that from “7:00am to 6:00pm, I’m happy from the time I come into work until the time I leave.”

Carol especially enjoys working with Drs. Gustafson and Morningstar and our patients because she considers Gustafson and Morningstar Dentistry a happy and fun practice. She values how much the office cares about Royal Oak, MI and the people in their community. She often attends the Chamber of Commerce monthly events. When Carol is not in the office, she enjoys spending time with her family.

A fun fact: Carol is the grandmother of two girls! She loves spending time with two-and-a-half-year-old granddaughter Madison and six-week-old granddaughter McKenzie.

Meet Michele, from Gustafson and Morningstar Dentistry!

Gustafson and Morningstar Dentistry, serving Royal Oak, Michigan and surrounding areas, would like to welcome Michele to our team! Michele has worked in the dental industry for many years, originally starting as an assistant. Now, Michele enjoys the front desk and management aspects of dentistry. Her strengths include people skills, reading people, and understanding the different motivations for human behavior.


One of Michele's favorite things about Gustafson and Morningstar Dentistry is their level of involvement in the community. She said that she has had the opportunity to meet her neighbors, and really participate in the community that she lives and works in through the office. On several occasions, Michele has accompanied Dr. Morningstar to Chamber of Commerce events and networking luncheons.

A fun fact: Michele is a huge Detroit Tigers fan!
